It's rare Halloween on a Saturday night so why not a Goth Rock Night, right? To that end The Carleton hosts Goth rockers Alexander Flexman & the Black Moon, along with Toronto's Talking to Spirits and locals Chase Clark & the Night Watch, including a drag performance from Halifax's own Vincent Puss on October 31st. Show time is 8 PM and tickets are a completely un-scary $15 + HST. ***This is definitely a standing and dancing kinda show, so if you'd like to grab a seat, best to arrive early and/or contact reservations@thecarleton.ca to make dinner arrangements. As it is Halloween...dressing up is obviously encouraged!*** Chase Clarke is a halifax based alternative artist that draws inspiration from varying styles mirroring new wave, darkwave, and psychedelic rock. His act is backed by live band The Nightwatch, providing an evocative, exciting experience to decorate the night. Vincent Puss is a new drag performer blending goth culture with drag. He enjoys being a little freak on stage, using inspiration from Vincent Price, John Waters, and gothic novels. Mixing sensuality with glamour, Vincent aims to hypnotize those around him. Talking to Spirits are an alternative/progressive rock trio based in Toronto. Fittingly described as a "Craigslist Supergroup" due to the diverse musical tastes of its members, TTS draws from a range of genres including alt-rock, prog, power pop, indie, folk and metal. When they're not on the road, in the studio, or crafting new songs, TTS can be found commuting from New Brunswick to Toronto, eating mushrooms and arguing about whether they're a prog or pop band. A self-produced solo artist, band, the founder of MORSAMOUR Studios & One Luv Fest, Alexander Flexman crafts a dark, atmospheric sound that channels the spirit of legends like Siouxie & The Banshees while standing alongside contemporary acts such as Avril Lavigne.
