Cozy Crimes & Second Acts: A Visit with Local Author Barbara Emodi

This event has no upcoming dates.
Halifax author Barbara Emodi never set out to write mysteries. After a career in government and political communication, she turned a lifelong love of sewing into a shelf of how-to books, and then into the Gasper's Cove Cozy Mysteries, a series set in a fictional Nova Scotia fishing town where the crafting is cozy and the crimes are not. These days she's leaning further into cozy, comic fiction, including the Unintended Sleuth Mysteries, whose first book, Memo to Murder, draws on her insider's view of Nova Scotia politics, and How to Be an Older Woman for Beginners, her wry take on aging with wit intact. Join Barbara for a reading, conversation, and behind-the-scenes stories about writing whodunits, coming to fiction later in life, and how tales rooted in small-town Nova Scotia have found readers around the world.
