A Practical Guide to Observing the Fall Night Skies

Join Tony Schellinck for an educational talk on how to find your way around the fall night skies using constellations and asterisms. Participants will learn what galaxies, globular clusters, open clusters, planetary nebula, diffuse nebula, double stars, and interesting asterisms can be found, as well as what these interesting deep sky objects are. The talk will also cover how to observe the moon and planets using dark adapted eyes and averted vision, and practice observing using binoculars. Participants are welcome to bring a pair of binoculars if they have them. Tony can lend out a limited amount of binoculars during the talk.
